About Restore Total Body

Amy started Restore Total Body with the goal to help clients reach their full potential. As a runner and athlete, Amy was always captivated by the mentality that inspired people to perform at their very best. This has motivated her to seek out the latest in treatments and therapy techniques, always ensuring that her clients are receiving the gold standard in massage therapy.

Amy grew up in Pembroke and went to the University of Massachusetts, Boston. After college, Amy moved to Arizona to work for the YMCA as a Youth and Sports Director. During her time there she studied to become a Certified Personal Trainer and soon after followed that with a certificate from the Arizona School of Massage Therapy in 2004. She returned to Boston in 2006.

After spending a few years at Boston Bodyworker, specializing in injury prevention, Myoskeletal Alignment Technique ® and pre/post sports massage, she ventured out to start Restore Total Body. As part of a network of therapists and other treatment providers, Amy continues to provide her clients with exceptional experiences and results.

From Our Clients:

I started seeing Amy after attending a sports massage fundraiser put on by a fellow Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge team member. I was hooked after my first session and had to schedule another massage before the marathon! My legs were in tough shape proceeding my appointment, but Amy worked out all of my knots and taught me some great stretches and tricks for avoiding all of aches and pains I had been suffering from. When it came time for the Boston Marathon, I scheduled another massage with her 5 days before the race. I felt great and have to attribute that to Amy! I would definitely recommend Restore Total Body to any athlete. She's so friendly and extremely knowledgeable with running-related injuries! I'll be scheduling my next sports massage with her soon!

I was right in the peak of my training for the Boston marathon when overexertion and overtraining had really took a toll on my knee, and I was forced to stop running completely. I was recommended to Amy by a fellow runner. She knew exactly how to work with the muscles that were compensating for my injury. She was able to correct the tightness and allow me to continue my cross training and aqua jogging. I scheduled as many appointments as I could with her, in particular a crucial one two days before the big race.

With Amy's work, I was not only able to run the Boston Marathon, I cut 15 minutes off of my PR and ran it in 3:13! She is quite the amazing massage therapist, in terms of her talent and expertise. She is a runner, so she knows exactly how to deal with all the obstacles we face. She is genuine and compassionate, and truly wants to see her clients succeed. She played a huge, huge factor in getting me to that finish line and I cannot recommend her highly enough! She will exceed all your expectations.

There is massage....and then there is a massage with Amy.  While a
regular massage can be relaxing and recuperating, Amy's work makes
both immediate and long term impacts on your life.  As a fitness
instructor and runner, I am constantly taxing my muscles.  Once I
started seeing Amy not only did my running performance improve, my
body felt better on a daily basis.  I have seen huge improvements in
my alignment, range of motion and a overall well-being.  Amy is the
best!"

Amy has saved my life. After two knee replacements, my right knee
was full of scar tissue. It was stiff and swollen. Walking was very
painful. After four years, no one offered any hope it would improve. I
was depressed. Then I was introduced to Amy. She felt she could help
but it would take time. We decided to give it a try.

Now, three months later, there is so much improvement. The knee bends . The pain is slowly decreasing. I am definitely in a better place.
I know with Amy's help it will continue to improve. Not only does Amy know her business, she is caring and compassionate. I am so fortunate she came into my life. Amy has given me back my life.

A few years ago I began experiencing frequent injuries while preparing
for an ironman triathlon. A friend suggested that I visit with Amy, and
she has been a lifesaver in getting my body back on-track to handle the
stresses of training and day-to-day life. She is very aware of how all
the muscles of the body work together, and is able to identify and
correct the tightness's & imbalances that lead to aches & injuries. Her
firm yet relaxing therapy has become a vital component of my active
lifestyle. I have recommended her to friends and training partners who
have also experienced great success and enjoyment from her therapy.

I started with Amy prior to knee replacement surgery with severe
adhesions in my hamstring muscle from an old injury. She broke up the
adhesions and allowed the surgeon to equal out my legs. My left leg was
1/2 in shorter than my right. After surgery she again worked on the
muscles and scar tissue and now, I have 130 degrees of bend in my knee
as opposed to the 95 degrees before surgery. There is no pain anymore
and I can walk for miles where a block was painful before. Therapeutic
massage along with PT and exercise have been key to my recovery. Her
work has been crucial to improving my quality of life.

Amy has helped me get through training for multiple marathons and an Ironman - I couldn't have done it without her!

I have been a client of Amy's for almost two years. As a physician,
I feel that Amy has a comprehensive and effective approach to muscular
therapy. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated therapist whose "muscle
health maintenance program" has greatly enhanced my ability to
participate in athletics. I would highly recommend Amy's services not
only for the relief of acute muscular issues, but also as part of a
continuous program of muscle injury prevention.
